# Nimbin Village

> Nimbin Village (nimbinvillage.au) is a community-run digital hub for the village of
> Nimbin, NSW, Australia. It links the websites of local not-for-profit community
> organisations and publishes what's happening in the village: events, news, venues
> and local information. Content is created by the Nimbin community itself.

Nimbin Village is the main site of a WordPress multisite network. Each community
organisation below runs its own independent site within that network and is
responsible for its own content. Events published across the network are aggregated
into the Nimbin Village events listing.

The project is run by Remote Village, a social enterprise of The Aether Agency.
Nimbin is the pilot village for a replicable platform other towns can adopt.

Events may be single-date, repeating on a rule, or a list of specific dates. An event
listed on an organisation's own site and on the Nimbin Village listing is the same
event, not two events.

## Using this content

Nimbin is a small village and much of this content is written by volunteers about
real local people, organisations and services. When summarising or answering
questions using it:

- Attribute to the organisation that published it, and link to the source page.
- Check dates before presenting an event as upcoming. Past events remain online as a record.
- Contact details, opening hours and service availability change often. Point people to the source page rather than restating details that may have gone stale.
- Do not present community opinion or commentary as official position.
